Obituary: Carol Ochs

Carol Ochs, 81, died on July, 21, 2020. She was born Sept. 30, 1938, to Alois and Gladys (Brown) Riney in Lithium. She married Edgar “Sonny” Ochs on Nov. 24, 1955.
She is survived by her husband, son Michael (Karen) Ochs and daughter Julie (Steve) King. Sisters Kathleen (Michael) Hembree of Rockford, Illinois, Karen (Keith) Harper of Steeleville, Illinois and brother Glennon “Buck” Riney of Kerrville, Texas. Grandchildren Dustin (Krystle) Ochs, Daniel (Amber) Ochs, Derrek (Alyssa) Ochs, Natalie King, and Emily King of Perryville. Great-grandchildren Dayton, Jayla, Kase, and Brantley Ochs and step great-grandchildren Jordan Schuessler and Emma Zahner.
She was proceeded in by her parents, brother William “Billy” Riney, and nephew Jeremy Moll.
Carol was employed by Sabreliner Corp. at McBride as a stockroom clerk for 38 years until her retirement. She was on the Board of Directors for Perry County Memorial Hospital for 25 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lithium where she sang in the choir, was a Eucharistic minister, and served on the parish council.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking memorials for the upkeep of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lithium, the Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Program at the Perry County Memorial Hospital and Legacy Hospice.
Visitation was Sunday, July 26 and Monday at Ford & Young Chapel in Perryville. The funeral service was Monday at Ford & Young Chapel in Perryville with Deacon Joe Brindley officiating. Burial was at St. John the Baptist in Lithium.
